These terms cover your use of cultureshock.wtf and attendance at Culture Shock events. By registering an account or requesting a spot at an event, you accept them.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account and to attend our events.
- One account per person. Your WhatsApp number and Instagram handle identify you, and duplicates are rejected.
- Give real details. A guest list checked against a name that isn't yours is a name that doesn't get in.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share your login.
Registration and entry
- Registering is a request for a spot, not a guaranteed ticket. Capacity is limited and lists are curated.
- Your QR code is personal. It admits one person once, and it is not transferable unless we say otherwise in writing.
- Bring ID. Entry can be refused at the door, including for intoxication, aggression, or refusing a search.
- Any drink or food allowance attached to your ticket is fixed, tracked at the bar, and has no cash value.
- We may cancel, reschedule, relocate or change the lineup of an event. We will tell you as early as we can.
Payment
- Prices are shown per event. Payment is made by transfer and confirmed by the reference code and screenshot you submit.
- Your spot is confirmed once we have verified the payment, not when the screenshot is uploaded.
- If we cancel an event, you get a refund. If you cannot attend, contact us before the event and we will do what we can — refunds for a change of mind are at our discretion.
- No refunds for guests refused entry or removed for breaking these terms or the venue's rules.
Conduct
Our floor is for everyone. Harassment, violence, racism, homophobia, transphobia, unwanted touching, drug dealing and filming people without consent all get you removed and banned, with no refund. Follow the venue's rules and its staff.
What you post
- You keep ownership of the photos, posts and mixes you upload. You grant us permission to display them on the site and in our channels while your account exists.
- Only upload what is yours to upload. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, or someone else's copyrighted work.
- There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members. That includes harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, nudity, violence, and any post that targets or demeans another person. Breaking this ends your access.
- Every post, story and comment carries a Report action, and you can Block any member from your account settings. We review reports and remove violating content or offending users, typically within 24 hours.
- We may remove any content or suspend any account, at our discretion, without notice.
Photography at events
We photograph and film our events, and those images may be used to promote Culture Shock. If you do not want to appear in them, tell the photographer on the night or email us afterwards and we will remove you from anything we control.
Artist profiles
If we link an artist profile to your account, you may edit its content. Publishing it is our decision, and we may unpublish it at any time. You confirm you have the right to the material you add.
Availability
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be up or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect losses arising from it being down. Nothing here limits liability we cannot lawfully limit.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time — see Delete Your Data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq, and disputes fall to the courts of Baghdad.
