Culture Shock runs events for adults in Baghdad and operates this site, the Culture Shock app and their community feed. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) anywhere on our platform. These standards apply to everyone who uses the site, the app, the feed, stories, comments and messages.
Adults only
Our events and our platform are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account, register for an event or post content. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor we remove it.
What is prohibited
- Uploading, sharing, requesting, linking to or describing any sexual content involving a minor, real or simulated, including drawings, edited images or text.
- Grooming: contacting or befriending a minor with the intention of sexual contact, or attempting to move such contact to another platform.
- Sextortion, sexualised commentary about minors, and any attempt to arrange sexual contact with a minor through our platform or events.
- Sharing personal information of a minor in a sexual context.
Any of the above results in immediate and permanent removal from the platform and from our events, regardless of ticket status.
How to report
- In the app: open the menu on any post, story or comment and choose Report. You can also block the account. Reports go straight to our team.
- By email: info@cultureshock.wtf with the subject Child safety. Include a link or screenshot if you have one.
You do not need to be the person affected to report. We do not tell the reported account who reported it.
What we do
- Child-safety reports are reviewed by a named member of our team before any other report, normally within 24 hours.
- Content that violates these standards is removed as soon as we become aware of it, whether through a report or our own moderation.
- The account involved is permanently banned, together with any duplicate accounts we can link to it, and its event registrations are cancelled.
- We preserve the relevant records and cooperate with the Iraqi authorities and, where applicable, international bodies such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We report confirmed CSAM to the competent authorities and comply with all applicable child-protection laws.
